Batesville High School

The Batesville High School tennis team hosted conference rival Connersville and suffered a 3-2 loss. The Bulldogs lost at No. 1 and 2 singles in straight sets as the Spartans took an early 0-2 lead. Lincoln Garrett and Caleb Mohr fought back after dropping their first set to win in 3 sets at No. 1 doubles. Wes Peters dropped set 1 and roared back to take set two. In his third set, Peters fell behind 2-5, won 4 straight games and ultimately won the game in a set tiebreaker to (8-6) to get the second point of the night for the Bulldogs. It came down to the No. 2 doubles team of Landon Raver and Owen Westerfeld. After winning their first set (6-4), the BHS duo dropped the second set 3-6. They got off to a slow start in the third and deciding set (0-4), but won three straight games to bring the match back within reach. Ultimately, Raver and Westerfeld dropped the final two games of the set to lose 3-6.
