Batesville High School

The Batesville Bulldogs defeated Franklin County 3-2 in varsity baseball action. Rylan Yeager singled to left field, which helped Batesville tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth. A double by Carson Meyer gave Batesville the lead, 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth. Cayden Drake earned the win for the Bulldogs. The hurler gave up three hits and one run (zero earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking none. Will Jaisle opened the game for Batesville. The righty surrendered one hit and one run over four innings, striking out nine and walking three. Josh Borgman pitched one inning of shutout ball for Batesville. The pitcher came in with bases loaded in the top of the seventh in a one-run ballgame with no outs. Batesville piled up nine hits in the game. Meyer and Ronan Post each collected two hits for the Bulldogs. Yeager, Meyer, and Post each drove in one run for Batesville. Varsity moves to 7-1 on the season and 5-0 in the EIAC.
