Batesville High School

The Batesville High School varsity tennis team suffered a 3-2 loss to East Central. The Bulldogs recorded wins at No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles. Lucy Abplanalp was a 6-2 and 6-0 winner over East Central's Rylee Penning. Ava Walsman and Molly Meer defeated Kayla Craig and Layla Craig in straight sets 6-2 and 6-4. Annie Negovetich lost 6-7 (3-7) and 3-6 at No. 1 singles, while Addie Fledderman was defeated 1-6 and 2-6 at No. 2 singles. The No. 2 doubles team of Grace Walter and Kate Bauer lost in three sets 6-3, 5-7 and 2-6. The BHS junior varsity was a 5-0 winner over the Trojans. Winners in singles play were Aurora Mertz, Grace Gutzwiller and Liv Maddock. Doubles winners were Addie Reding/Ellie Westerfeld and Maddie Haskamp/Ella Carpenter.
