The Batesville High School varsity baseball team posted a 9-4 win at North Decatur. Batesville got on the board in the top of the first inning after Carson Meyer doubled, scoring two runs, Alex Krekeler grounded out, scoring one run, and Josh Borgman singled, scoring one run. The Bulldogs added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Will Jaisle doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and a passed ball scored two runs. Batesville added one run in the third. Dane Dudley tripled to make the score 9-1. Jaisle earned the win on the mound for the Bulldogs. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out eight and walking four. Rylan Yeager pitched one inning of shutout ball for Batesville in relief. The pitcher gave up one hit, striking out none and walking none. Dudley and Carson Schneider were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Batesville. Borgman and Meyer each drove in two runs for the Bulldogs. Batesville had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Brayden Maple and Krekeler led the team with two walks. Jaisle stole two bases. Batesville stole five bases in the game.
