The Batesville High School football team won its first football regional title since 1986 by knocking off Tri-West (Hendricks) by a score of 41-37. The Bulldogs scored 20 fourth quarter points to rally from a 34-21 deficit. The game-winning touchdown was a 12-yard pass from Will Jaisle to Damien Dance in the closing minute of the game. Prior to the game-winner, Jaisle scored on a 1-yard run (Wonnell kick) to cut the lead to two points at 37-35. Earlier in the quarter, a touchdown pass from Jaisle to Alex Krekeler (Wonnell kick) made it 34-28. Tri-West extended its lead to 37-28 on a 32-yard field goal before the late game heroics by the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs scored one time in each of the first three quarters. Jaisle on a 1-yard run in the first followed by a 22-yard reception by Dance in the second. Gage Pohlman scored on a 54 yard run in the third quarter. Pohlman gave the Bulldogs just what they needed on the ground. The BHS senior finished the night with 199 yards rushing on 26 carries. Jaisle was 8-of-15 passing for 97 yards, while Dance caught six passes for 64 yards.
