Batesville High School

The Batesville Bulldogs participated in a tournament hosted by Shelbyville. The Bulldog opened up against Mooresville and suffered a 2-1 loss. Mooresville scored the first goal of the game, but it was answered by the Bulldogs not long after. Batesville equalized when Simon Berkemeier scored a penalty kick. In the second half, a miscleared ball led to a long shot by a Mooresville player that found the net, resulting in a final score of 2-1 leading to a Bulldog loss. THe Bulldogs lost in a penalty shootout to the host Golden Bears in the second match of the day. In the first half, Shelbyville scored their first goal from a free kick into the box, followed by another goal from a low-driven shot. The Bulldogs scored their first goal when Mathias Davalos took a corner and found Oliver Camarena for a close-range shot. Shelbyville added a third goal by dribbling through the box and taking a shot. In the second half, the Bulldogs regained their momentum. Ben Hunter's corner kick was headed in by Simon Berkemeier, and Berkemeier later assisted Talan Rowlett for another goal, tying the game 3-3 by the end of the second half. The Bulldogs ultimately lost in the penalty shootout.
