Batesville High School

The Bulldogs defeated Franklin County by a score of 8-4 at Liberty Park. Dane Dudley drove in four runs on two hits to lead Bulldogs past the Wildcats. Dudley doubled in the second inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring two. The Bulldogs got on the board in the first inning after Carson Schneider singled, scoring one run. Batesville extended their early lead with four runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI doubles by Dudley, Eli Loichinger, and Jack Grunkemeyer. The Bulldogs added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when a wild pitch scored one run, and Dudley singled, scoring two runs. Grunkemeyer earned the win for Batesville. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out nine and walking two. Carter Bohman pitched one and one-third innings of shutout ball for Batesville in relief. The reliever surrendered one hit, striking out three and walking none. Batesville piled up 10 hits in the game, Bohman and Dudley each collected two hits for the Bulldogs.
