Batesville High School

The Batesville High School boys varsity basketball team held on to defeat Lawrenceburg by a score of 52-48. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead and maintained it throughout, but it did not come easy in the second half. Batesville led 11-8 at the end of the first quarter and later 27-16 at halftime. The Tigers bounced back to make if close much of the second half. The Bulldogs were outscored 16-11 in the third quarter as the lead was trimmed to 38-32 through three quarters. The Bulldogs had four players score in double figures. Jack Grunkemeyer led the way with 17 points followed by Sam Johnson with 14. Cade Kaiser and Gus Prickel added 11 and 10 points, respectively. Kaiser and Grunkemeyer led the team in rebounding with nine boards apiece. Kaiser was also credited with a team-high seven assists.
