BHS runners compete at Greensburg Invitational

The Batesville High School Cross Country took a short trip down the road after school tonight to Greensburg to compete in the Pirate's 19 team Invitational. The girls stepped up to the line first with 3 ladies finishing in the top 20 to receive awards, had 2 personal records broken and placed 4th overall. Leading the way for the Dogs were sophomores Audrey Deickmann, placing 10th (22:38) and Aubrey Weberding in 19th (23:35) who was closely followed by juniors Reillee Adams at 20th (23:55) and Addison McGuire in 21st (24:02). Addison also ran a huge PR bettering her time by almost a minute. Finishing out the top 5 for Batesville was Zoe Martin placing 36th. Also running a personal best for the girls was Aubree Spurlock. Top 5 teams for the girls race were: 1st Greensburg-29 2nd Indianapolis Genesis-49 3rd Southport-79 4th Batesville-93 5th Bloomington-130 The boys had 190 runners in their race with our top 4 runners in the top 50. Leading the way was freshmen Cael Luhman placing 35th (19:16), followed by Brody Gibson, 42nd (19:37), Duncan Fish, 46th (19:56) and Luke Raver, 50th (20:03). Finishing out the scoring spots was Timothy Quillin in 55th. Overall the boys placed 8th with 228 points as the Lawrence North Wildcats ran away with the victory with a low score of 23 points.
