Batesville High School

The Batesville High School girls soccer team defeated Madison by a score of 4-1. Madison scored first to take the early lead. The Bulldogs were not able to tie the game until the 2nd half with only 15 minutes left to go. Nora Wiedeman took a free kick at the 30-yard line, sent a ball up, Hailee Weisenbach got a touch on it and then Addie Reding finished it. Less than 5 minutes later, Sydney Britton from the left-hand sideline received a throw in from Kenzi Lacey around the 15-yard line and then took a deep shot towards goal that went up and over the keeper to make it 2-1. The varsity girls were not done yet. Marley Denning sent a cross into the box, the ball pinged around, until Maddie Prewitt won it from a defender, took a touch and then sent in a low shot for a goal. With the clock winding down, 5 seconds to go, Addie Reding was fouled in the box. She stepped up to take the PK, but the goalie was able to swat it away; Marley Denning came crashing in for the rebound and tapped it in to end the game 4-1.
