Batesville High School

The Batesville High School girls varsity soccer team posted a 9-0 win at Rushville. Freshman Elia Wade received a pass from senior Addie Reding to score the first goal of the game. Eight minutes later, the duo connected again; Reding assisted Wade for her second goal of the night. Hailee Weisenbach got a goal from inside the box, off a slip pass from Maddie Prewitt. At the start of the second half, Wade didn't wait long, 24 seconds to be exact, to get her third goal off a pass from Weisenbach that she was able to receive in the box, took a half turn dribble and then shot and scored near post. Shortly after, Wade slipped a pass towards Reding, who took an easy shot to get the ball past the keeper. Reding then took a corner and Weisenbach headed the ball into the back of the net. Marley Denning got an assist when she sent a shot towards the back post; the goalie got a piece of it, but Maddie Prewitt was able to tap it in. With a foul in the box, goalie, Brynlie Oesterling stepped up to take the PK and converted it into the team's eighth goal of the game. The game ended when Rushville scored an own goal off of an Alyssa Cummings corner. GOALS: Elia Wade (3), Hailee Weisenbach (2), Addie Reding, Maddie Prewitt and Brynlie Oesterling each with (1). ASSISTS: Addie Reding (3), Maddie Prewitt, Hailee Weisenbach, Elia Wade and Marley Denning each with (1). Oesterling and Macey Benjamin shared minutes in goal to help secure the shut out conference win.
