Bulldogs travel to Rushville

The Batesville High School varsity football team posted a 50-7 win over the host Rushville Lions. The Bulldogs scored twice in the first quarter to take a 14-0 lead. Rylan Yeager returned a punt for the team's first score and later caught a pass from quarterback Calvin Padgett for the second. Kicker Ronan Post added a pair of extra points. Padgett connected with Jackson Elston for the team's third score. A Post PAT made it 21-0. The Lions got on the scoreboard to cut the lead to 14 points, but Zadiin Small scored before the end of the half to help extend the lead back to 21 points. Dylan Shane and Small added rushing touchdowns in the third quarter as the Batesville lead grew to 43-7. The final BHS score of the game was on a carry by Ajon Herbert in the fourth quarter. Defensively, Brycin Hoegeman led the team with four solo and five assisted tackles, including one tackle for loss. Clayton Kaiser was second on the team with two solo and three assists. Isaac Lemmel and Logan Schneider each had pass interceptions for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs improved to 4-0 on the season with the victory.
