BHS junior varsity wins 18-5

Max Meyer drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Batesville junior varsity past Madison 18-5 on Friday. Meyer tripled in the second inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the fourth inning, scoring two. Batesville flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring eight runs on five hits to take the lead, 8-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Meyer that drove in three. A walk by Tiago Batta, and a ground out by Eli Doll helped Batesville extend their early lead in the third. The Bulldogs scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Doll stepped on the bump first for the Bulldogs. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking two.
