Bulldogs win 9-0 at Rushville

The Batesville High School varsity baseball team posted a 9-0 win at Rushville. Noah Weigel collected three hits in four at bats in the win. Weigel doubled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the second inning. Batesville got on the board in the top of the first inning after Weigel doubled down the left field line, and Carson Meyer hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. The Bulldogs scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the third inning. Tiago Batta singled, scoring one run, Preston Blessing drew a walk, scoring one run, Weigel singled, scoring two runs, Brayden Maple doubled, scoring two runs, and Ronan Post doubled, scoring one run. Meyer earned the win for the Bulldogs. The southpaw allowed four hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out six and walking one. Blessing pitched one inning of no-run ball for Batesville in relief. The pitcher gave up one hit, striking out none and walking none. Batesville accumulated 11 hits in the game. Rylan Yeager and Post each collected multiple hits for the Bulldogs. Maple led the team with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game.
