It was another pleasant night for a track meet as the Batesville Bulldogs hosted the Ripley County meet as well as celebrated their 10 seniors! It was a very successful night for the Bulldogs as they had 20 different individuals winning County Champion in 28 events, meaning several were multiple winners. Batesville also had 13 different individuals as runner up County Champions. There were also 2 meet records broken and 1 tied, 2 Bulldogs named as the meet MVP's, both the boys and the girls were crowned the overall Champions and a handful of personal best records broken. First let's talk about the 2 meet records. Ella King broke her own record in shot put from last year of 39'10.5", with a throw tonight of 41'8.5". The girls 4 x 400m relay team of Ava Wade, Maggie Jelinek, Bayleigh Demaree and Abby Miller broke the old meet record of 4:21.53 set in 2015, with a time of 4:13.55 tonight. Isabel Meyer tied the pole vault record of 9'6", sharing it with Batesville's Danielle Strobel from 2013. Congratulations everyone! Abby Miller, who won all 4 of her events, was named the female County MVP. She was the overall champion in the 100m dash (13.14), 200m dash (27.93), the 400m dash (1:00.7) and was the anchor of the 4 x 400m relay. The male County MVP was earned by Noah Davis as he was the overall champion in the 100m dash (11.84), 200m dash (23.85) and the 4 x 100m relay (45.38). Way to go Abby and Noah! Team results for the night came in with the Bulldogs scoring some big points to take home the trophies. On the girls side it was Batesville with an impressive 141 points to South Ripley's 53.5, Milan-22 and Jac-Cen-Del-11.5. The boys were just as impressive as they scored 121 points to South Ripley's 58, Milan-40 and Jac-Cen-Del-16. Congratulations Bulldogs!
