Bulldogs fall 10-8 at Lawrenceburg

Despite leading by as many as four runs, the Batesville junior varsity Bulldogs fell to Lawrenceburg by a score of 10-8. Batesville got on the board in the top of the first inning after Lane Higham singled down the left field line, and Jack Huber lined into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run. Batesville flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 7-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Edwin Hernandez that drove in two. Landon Grossman singled to left field on an 0-2 count, which helped the Bulldogs tie the game at eight in the top of the fifth. Huber pitched three innings in relief for the Bulldogs. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and two runs (zero earned) while, striking out none and walking one. Eli Doll stepped on the hill first for Batesville Junior Varsity Bulldogs. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and three runs over two innings, striking out two and walking none. Hernandez and Grossman each collected two hits for Batesville . Hernandez and Drew Nobbe were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for the Bulldogs. Grossman and Jaxson Watson each stole multiple bases.
