Batesville High School

A walk-off left the Batesville Bulldogs on the wrong end of an 8-7 defeat to the Madison Cubs. Batesville lost despite out-hitting Madison Varsity Cubs 11 to six. Rylan Yeager, Brayden Maple, William Huber, and Jackson Elston each collected two hits for the Bulldogs. Jackson Peetz hit a sacrifice fly, which helped the Bulldogs tie the game at one in the top of the second. Batesville took the lead in the top of the third inning after Maple singled to left field, Yeager grounded into a double play, and Elston singled , each scoring one run. Madison Varsity Cubs flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 7-4. Batesville tied the game in the top of the seventh thanks to a solo home run to center field by Maple, and a single by Tiago Batta. The Bulldogs accumulated 11 hits in the game. Maple and Batta each drove in two runs for the Bulldogs.
