Bulldogs drop two to Greensburg

The Batesville High School varsity baseball team dropped a 7-5 decision in game one of a doubleheader at Greensburg. A double by William Huber put Batesville Varsity Bulldogs on the board in the top of the first. Batesville captured the lead, 4-1, in the top of the fourth after Jackson Peetz doubled to center field, Noah Weigel singled up the middle, and Max Meyer stole home, each scoring one run. Greensburg Varsity Pirates flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs on two hits to take the lead. Carson Meyer stepped on the bump first for Batesville. The pitcher gave up one hit and one run over four innings, striking out two and walking two. Huber provided pop in the middle of the lineup with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Huber, Ronan Post, Weigel, and Peetz each collected one hit for the Bulldogs. Batesville Varsity Bulldogs fell to the Pirates 6-2 at Greensburg.  Huber took the pitching loss for the Bulldogs. The starting pitcher went five innings, surrendering five runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out one and walking none. Brayden Maple and Huber were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Bulldogs.
