Bulldogs fall to Wildcats 11-8

The Batesville junior varsity baseball team fell 11-8 to Franklin County despite out-hitting them eight to seven. Michael Linville, Eli Doll, and Lane Higham each collected two hits for Batesville. Batesville captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third after the Wildcats committed an error, Linville singled to center field, Braden Hochstetler grounded out, and Edwin Hernandez grounded out, each scoring one run. Batesville later tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a double by Higham, and a passed ball. Declan Meyer grounded out, which helped Batesville tie the game at eight in the bottom of the seventh. Doll began the game on the mound for the Bulldogs. The hurler allowed six hits and seven runs (zero earned) over six innings, striking out two and walking one. Linville, Doll, Higham, Hochstetler, and Meyer each drove in one run for Batesville. Huber stole two bases. The Bulldogs ran wild on the base paths, collecting six stolen bases for the game.
