Batesville High School

The Batesville High School varsity baseball team suffered a 2-1 defeat at New Palestine. The pitching was strong on both sides. New Palestine pitchers struck out 12, while Batesville Varsity Bulldogs sat down four. William Huber singled to center field, which helped the Bulldogs tie the game at one in the top of the seventh. Huber stepped on the hill first for the Bulldogs. The starter allowed six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out four and walking one. Huber led Batesville with one run batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-4 on the day. Brayden Maple led the Bulldogs with two hits in four at bats. Huber stole two bases. Batesville turned one double play in the game. Batesville didn't commit a single error in the field. Preston Blessing had the most chances in the field with nine.
