Batesville High School

Caitlyn Fox hit two home runs and drove in five as the Batesville varsity softball team defeated Union County 9-3. Fox homered in the second and sixth innings. Batesville won thanks in part to five runs in the second inning.  Molly Abel singled, scoring one run, and Fox hit a grand slam to center field. The Bulldogs added one run in the third. Abel doubled down the right field line, making the score 6-2. Batesville scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Fox. Libby Stephens stepped in the circle first for Batesville . The hurler allowed five hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two. Grace Copley pitched three and one-third innings of no-run ball for Batesville in relief. The reliever gave up zero hits, striking out six and walking two. Batesville tallied 10 hits in the game. Fox and Cora Roth each collected three hits, while Abel had two hits for the Bulldogs in three at bats.
