Bulldogs top JCD 57-35

The Batesville High School girls varsity basketball team posted a 57-35 victory at Jac-Cen-Del. The Bulldogs trailed at the end of the first quarter 14-13, but then outscored the Eagles 18-6 in the second to take a 31-20 lead into halftime. The Batesville lead continued to grow with an 18 point third quarter as they entered the final eight minutes up 49-26. Maggie Jelinek led the Bulldogs with 16 points on 7 of 12 shooting from the field. She also grabbed a team-high 19 rebounds and was credited with six assists. Leah Meyer and Molly Gesell were also in double figures with 14 and 11 points, respectively. Kaylin Kathmann led the team in assists with nine.
